- • As an AI Engineer at Haven Headache and Migraine Relief, you will be an early member of the engineering team focused on building AI-powered features that directly improve care for the 40 million Americans suffering from migraines, working to close a critical gap in a $112B market where only 8% of patients receive adequate treatment.
- • You will translate product ideas from clinical and operations teams into feasible AI features by evaluating whether AI is the right tool, selecting appropriate techniques (such as RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or classical ML), prototyping solutions, and driving implementation through design, prototyping, and production hardening phases in close collaboration with engineering, design, and clinical teams.
- • You will join a mission-driven, early-stage startup backed by Precursor Ventures and 1843 Capital, building on an existing Elixir/Phoenix platform on AWS to develop a greenfield AI layer that enables personalized care plans, clinical decision support, and automated care routing through telemedicine and AI-enabled monitoring.
- • You will have the opportunity to grow your technical and leadership skills in a high-impact role, with clear pathways for advancement into individual contributor or management tracks as the company scales, while working alongside experienced founders who have successfully built and scaled healthcare companies.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building AI/ML-powered product features, with at least one shipped to production
- • Practical fluency across the modern AI stack including LLMs, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation, agents, and fine-tuning, with judgment to select the right approach for each problem
- • Strong product intuition to collaborate with clinical and design partners and turn ambiguous ideas into concrete, buildable features
- • Comfort with early-stage startup ambiguity and a track record of taking initiative to understand requirements or analyze data to inform user behavior
