📋 Description

• As an AI Engineering Intern at Homebase Labs Inc., you will join a fast-moving team dedicated to helping small businesses thrive by building AI-powered automations that improve internal operations. This 3-month hybrid internship in San Francisco (June–August 2026) offers hands-on experience applying LLMs to real business workflows while collaborating directly with non-technical teams.
• Day to day, you will embed with internal teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Support to map workflows, identify automation opportunities, design and ship end-to-end AI solutions using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or React, and measure impact through metrics like ticket deflection and operational efficiency. You will also create reusable playbooks, document solutions, and experiment with AI tools to enhance your own productivity.
• Homebase is a mission-driven company that builds the everything app for hourly teams, serving over 150,000 small businesses with tools for scheduling, payroll, HR, and communication. The company values empathy, urgency, and teamwork, fostering a culture where every Homie owns their impact and wins together.
• In this role, you will develop product-minded engineering skills, gain fluency in AI-first development, learn to translate business problems into technical solutions, and build a portfolio of shipped internal tools—all while receiving mentorship and contributing to Homebase’s AI adoption strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or React through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, learning new systems quickly, and working directly with non-technical stakeholders
• Strong communication skills for pairing with business partners and demoing work
• Ability to collaborate in the San Francisco office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (hybrid expectation)
• Passion for helping small businesses and building tools that make teams more effective
