- • Lead cutting-edge AI research focused on developing clinically validated, real-time AI systems for healthcare delivery, specifically in physical therapy, women’s health, cardiometabolic, and mental health domains.
- • Design and implement novel machine learning architectures that enable AI-driven therapeutic interventions, including movement analysis, psychotherapy support, nutrition guidance, and behavior change modeling.
- • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure AI models adhere to medical safety standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based care protocols validated by 42 clinical studies.
- • Develop AI systems that operate 24/7 as part of a fully AI-native care program, replacing traditional session-based models with continuous, personalized patient support.
- • Analyze and interpret multimodal data streams—including video motion capture, sensor data, patient-reported outcomes, and behavioral logs—to train models that accurately assess patient progress and adapt interventions in real time.
- • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences to establish Sword as a thought leader in AI-driven healthcare innovation.
- • Work closely with engineering and product teams to translate research prototypes into scalable, production-grade AI features integrated into Sword’s global platform used by over 700,000 members.
- • Ensure all AI systems are designed with patient privacy, data security, and ethical AI principles at their core, aligning with global healthcare compliance standards.
- • Contribute to the development of 44+ patented AI technologies by identifying new research directions that enhance diagnostic accuracy, treatment personalization, and clinical outcomes.
- • Engage with enterprise clients to understand real-world clinical needs and translate them into research priorities that reduce unnecessary healthcare costs and improve patient access.
- • Maintain deep alignment with Sword’s mission to remove barriers to care—such as appointments, waiting rooms, and stigma—by building AI systems that are accessible, stigma-free, and universally usable.
- • Participate in cross-functional teams to evaluate the impact of AI interventions on patient adherence, recovery speed, and long-term health outcomes across multiple conditions.
- • Stay current with advancements in AI, clinical science, and digital therapeutics to ensure Sword’s research remains at the forefront of medical AI innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field with a focus on healthcare applications
- • Proven track record of publishing peer-reviewed research in top-tier AI or medical AI conferences/journals
- • Expertise in developing and deploying deep learning models for multimodal data (e.g., video, sensor, text)
- • Experience working with clinical data and understanding healthcare regulatory environments (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CE marking)
- • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks
- • Demonstrated ability to translate research into scalable, production AI systems
