📋 Description

• As an AI Scientist at Maki People SAS, you will work at the intersection of psychometrics, AI, and research to ensure the company’s automated scoring systems are scientifically robust, fair, and continuously improving, directly shaping the future of ethical hiring practices.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating and calibrating AI and psychometric models, designing human-AI comparison studies, conducting bias and fairness analyses, developing predictive analytics linking assessment scores to job performance, monitoring model performance over time, and contributing to technical research that combines AI with psychometric science.
• You will join the Science team at Maki People, a mission-driven organization led by Head of Science Aiden Loe and COO Paul-Louis Caylar, dedicated to innovating hiring through rigorous, transparent, and ethically grounded assessment tools used by clients worldwide.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI model evaluation, psychometric validation, fairness in machine learning, and predictive analytics, while gaining experience in cross-functional collaboration, research publication, and influencing ethical AI standards in talent assessment.

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree (PhD/MSc) in Data Science, Machine Learning, Psychometrics, Computational Linguistics, or Psychology
• Proven expertise in AI model evaluation, psychometric validation, and statistical analysis
• Proficiency in Python or R and experience with statistical software and cloud databases (e.g., BigQuery)
• Experience applying fairness and bias testing methodologies in AI-driven decisions
• Skilled in validation research ensuring reliability, construct validity, and practical relevance of assessments
• Strong grounding in ethical AI, data governance, and compliance
