📋 Description

• As an Analyst in Trust & Safety Operations at MoonPay, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of the platform by monitoring, investigating, and mitigating fraudulent and abusive activities that threaten user trust and regulatory compliance. Your work directly supports MoonPay’s mission to build a secure, accessible, and fair financial ecosystem for millions of users globally.
• You will conduct daily monitoring of transaction patterns, user behavior, and system alerts to identify potential risks such as money laundering, account takeover, synthetic identity fraud, and policy violations. Using internal tools and dashboards, you will triage alerts, prioritize high-risk cases, and escalate complex investigations to senior analysts or specialized teams.
• You will perform in-depth investigations into suspicious activities by analyzing transaction histories, KYC/AML data, device fingerprints, IP geolocation, and behavioral analytics. You will document findings clearly, apply risk scoring models, and recommend actions such as account freezes, transaction holds, or user offboarding in alignment with MoonPay’s risk policies.
• You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Legal teams to refine detection rules, improve alert logic, and contribute to the evolution of automated fraud prevention systems. Your insights will help shape product features and policy updates that enhance safety without compromising user experience.
• You will maintain accurate records of all investigations in case management systems, ensuring full audit readiness for internal reviews and external regulators. You will also support regulatory reporting efforts by preparing summaries and metrics for SARs, STR filings, and other compliance obligations as required.
• You will participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on emerging fraud typologies, regulatory changes (including FATF, FCA, FinCEN, and GDPR guidelines), and best practices in trust and safety operations within fintech and crypto ecosystems.
• You will contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks, suggesting automation opportunities, and helping standardize workflows to increase team efficiency and scalability as MoonPay grows.

• The Trust & Safety Ops team is a foundational pillar of MoonPay’s compliance infrastructure, working behind the scenes to ensure that every transaction on the platform is safe, legal, and aligned with the company’s commitment to financial inclusion and user protection.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in financial crime prevention, blockchain analytics, and regulatory compliance within the digital asset space. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge fraud detection tools and grow into a trusted advisor who influences both operational strategy and product design.
• You will build transferable skills in data analysis, investigative thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and risk management — competencies highly valued across fintech, banking, cybersecurity, and regulatory technology sectors. 🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in fraud analysis, AML/KYC, or trust and safety operations.
• 1–2 years of experience in fraud monitoring, transaction surveillance, or investigations within fintech, payments, banking, or cryptocurrency environments.
• Proficiency in using data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker) to extract insights from large datasets and identify anomalous patterns.
• Strong understanding of AML/KYC principles, transaction monitoring typologies, and regulatory expectations in global financial services (FATF, FCA, FinCEN, etc.).
• Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to remain objective under pressure when evaluating ambiguous or high-stakes situations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate with technical, legal, and product teams.
