- • Serve as an Analytics Engineering leader within Reddit’s Consumer Data Science team, partnering with Data Scientists, Product, Engineering, and Design teams to build and maintain the foundational data infrastructure that powers product decisions.
- • Architect, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery of large-scale structured and unstructured consumer data, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across production systems.
- • Act as the primary data steward for Consumer products by designing data models, defining data governance standards, and implementing automated workflows to support feature tracking, user retention analysis, A/B testing, and other key product metrics.
- • Create and maintain user-friendly data tools, dashboards, and self-service analytics applications to enable non-engineering teams to access and interpret data independently, driving a company-wide culture of data literacy and autonomy.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure data pipeline integrity, monitor data quality, and implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve data issues.
- • Lead transformational initiatives to modernize Reddit’s data stack by adopting best practices in data modeling, workflow automation (e.g., Airflow), and scalable data architecture for relational and MPP databases.
- • Provide technical mentorship and coaching to Data Scientists and other technical stakeholders, helping them effectively leverage data tools and understand underlying data structures.
- • Act as a strategic thought partner to leadership and engineering managers on the long-term data foundations roadmap, shaping how data is collected, stored, and utilized across the Consumer domain.
- • Drive widespread adoption of standardized, automated, and reliable data deliverables across cross-functional teams, reducing manual reporting efforts and increasing analytical velocity.
- • Translate complex business objectives into technical data requirements and deliver solutions that align with both product goals and engineering constraints.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale ETL systems in a production environment, with strong proficiency in Python
- • Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Spark, and/or Scala, with hands-on experience in data modeling and ETL/ELT patterns
- • Proven experience with data workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and experience with data visualization and dashboard design
- • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or Physics
- • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers
- • Experience working with massive-scale structured and unstructured data in a consumer product environment
