- • Serve as an Analytics Engineering leader within Reddit’s Consumer Data Science team, building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers product decisions across 126 million daily active users.
- • Architect and improve data collection systems for Consumer products, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable data pipelines for feature tracking, user retention analysis, and A/B testing.
- • Develop, deploy, and maintain robust ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, Spark, and Airflow to ingest, process, and transform massive-scale structured and unstructured data.
- • Create and manage data models, dashboards, and self-service analytics tools used by Data Scientists, Product, Engineering, and Design teams to drive product improvements and business outcomes.
- • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into technical data solutions, acting as a bridge between data producers and data consumers.
- • Lead initiatives to automate data processes, improve data reliability, and establish governance standards that ensure consistency and trust in Reddit’s data foundation.
- • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Data Scientists and other engineers on best practices in data modeling, pipeline design, and analytics tooling.
- • Contribute to the strategic roadmap for Reddit’s data infrastructure, shaping long-term decisions around data architecture, tooling, and scalability for the next decade.
- • Drive adoption of data self-service capabilities across the organization, empowering non-engineering teams to access and analyze data independently.
- • Ensure data pipelines are optimized for performance, observability, and maintainability, working in partnership with Engineering to uphold production-grade standards.
- • Design and implement user-friendly data applications and reporting interfaces that streamline analysis and reduce manual reporting overhead.
- • Act as a thought partner to leadership and engineering managers on data strategy, helping to prioritize investments in data quality, automation, and tooling.
- • Support the development of a data-driven culture by promoting transparency, documentation, and reusable analytics components across teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, operations research, computer science, applied mathematics, economics, or physics
- • 4+ years of experience working with large-scale ETL systems (implementation, strategy, and maintenance) in a production environment, with Python preferred
- • Strong programming proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and/or Scala
- • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, and managing massive-scale structured and unstructured data
- • Experience with data workflow tools such as Airflow, and familiarity with front-end or back-end engineering
- • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders of varying technical acumen
