- • Build and maintain clean, well-structured data models that support business operations, executive reporting, revenue cycle analysis, and go-to-market strategy.
- • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business problems into scalable, actionable data solutions that drive decision-making across the organization.
- • Design and implement a semantic layer with standardized documentation, naming conventions, and freshness SLAs to ensure consistent data interpretation.
- • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance through governance frameworks, observability tools, and proactive monitoring systems.
- • Optimize data architecture and storage solutions to improve performance, reduce infrastructure costs, and enhance efficiency of batch and real-time data workflows.
- • Contribute to PHI-adjacent data modeling efforts by applying best practices for governed data separation and privacy-preserving architectures.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of production data products—from concept and design to deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, taking initiative to identify and solve critical data gaps without explicit direction.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, finance, and clinical operations teams to align data infrastructure with organizational priorities and user needs.
- • Leverage dbt as the core transformation tool, owning project structure, source definitions, test coverage, documentation, and change management processes.
- • Write complex, high-performance SQL queries and Python scripts to extract, transform, and load data across heterogeneous sources.
- • Integrate and manage modern data stack components including Snowflake as the primary cloud warehouse and BI tools such as Metabase, Tableau, or Looker.
- • Design and scale end-to-end data infrastructure including pipelines, dimensional models, analytics layers, and datasets optimized for machine learning readiness.
- • Apply data modeling, governance, privacy, and observability best practices to ensure reliable and auditable data systems.
- • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, enabling broader organizational adoption of data-driven insights.
- • Support data platform migrations and strategic decisions around data architecture evolution as the company scales.
- • Maintain awareness of healthcare data regulations and apply HIPAA-compliant practices where data touches protected health information.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytical engineering, or analytical roles with strong dbt ownership
- • Deep dbt proficiency, including ownership of project structure, source definitions, test coverage, documentation, and change management
- • Strong SQL and Python skills with experience building complex, high-performance queries
- • Familiarity with modern data stack tools including Snowflake (preferred) and BI platforms like Metabase, Tableau, or Looker
- • Proven ability to design, build, and scale end-to-end data infrastructure including pipelines, schemas, dimensional models, and analytics layers
- • Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, privacy, and observability best practices
