  • • As a Lead Biostatistician at Natera, you will be at the forefront of advancing the adoption of our innovative oncology portfolio, which includes cutting-edge molecular diagnostic tests. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to independently lead the statistical design, rigorous analysis, and comprehensive reporting for multiple practice-changing oncology clinical trials.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to propose and implement efficient, fit-for-purpose study designs that have a broad and significant impact across our entire oncology portfolio. This requires a deep understanding of statistical principles and their application in a complex, fast-paced clinical research environment.
  • • You will serve as the dedicated study statistician for multiple clinical trials, acting as the central point of statistical expertise and guidance throughout their lifecycle.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, medical affairs, and translational research partners. You will actively influence study planning, development, and execution, ensuring statistical rigor and scientific validity are maintained.
  • • Proactively identify potential risks associated with study design, data collection, or analysis, and develop strategies to mitigate them. You will be expected to communicate concerns clearly and effectively to interdisciplinary teams and executive leadership, championing data-driven solutions.
  • • You will be responsible for authoring and meticulously reviewing high-quality statistical deliverables. This includes developing detailed Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), generating Tables, Listings, and Figures (TLFs) for internal review, and contributing to Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • • Embrace innovation by recommending and applying novel statistical approaches where appropriate, pushing the boundaries of traditional methodologies to address complex oncology challenges.
  • • Play a crucial role in mentoring early-career biostatisticians, fostering their professional development and contributing to the growth of the statistical team.
  • • Drive continuous improvement within the biostatistics department by contributing to the enhancement of departmental processes, tools, and templates. Your insights will help improve team efficiency, analytical rigor, and overall quality of statistical work.
  • • Collaborate on the development of manuscripts for publication, translating complex statistical findings into clear, impactful scientific communications for the broader research community.
  • • This role demands a strong scientific communication ability, coupled with a proven track record of applying innovative statistical methodologies to oncology clinical trial design. You will be expected to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional setting, contributing to Natera's mission of transforming patient care through advanced diagnostics.
  • • You will be instrumental in ensuring that our clinical trial designs are not only statistically sound but also strategically aligned with the goals of our oncology portfolio, ultimately contributing to the development of life-saving therapies and diagnostic tools.
  • • The Lead Biostatistician will be a key contributor to the scientific strategy of Natera's oncology programs, providing statistical insights that shape the direction of research and development.
  • • This position requires an expert-level ability to independently design clinical studies, drawing upon deep domain knowledge and a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges inherent in oncology research.
  • • You will leverage your expertise in biomarker-enabled clinical study designs, sample size determination, and endpoint evaluation to optimize study efficiency and maximize the potential for meaningful results.
  • • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with collaborators from diverse technical backgrounds is essential for success in this role.
  • • The capacity to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences is a critical requirement, ensuring alignment and understanding across all stakeholders.
  • • Contribute to the overall scientific strategy and direction of Natera's oncology pipeline through robust statistical planning and analysis.
