- • Affirm is at the forefront of revolutionizing credit, offering consumers a transparent and flexible way to 'buy now and pay later' without the burden of hidden fees or compounding interest. We are seeking a highly skilled and action-oriented Analytics Lead to join our dynamic People Analytics organization. This pivotal role will drive the next evolution of our data infrastructure, modeling, and reporting capabilities, ensuring that our talent programs are powered by robust and insightful data.
- • The People Analytics team is the backbone of key talent initiatives at Affirm, building and maintaining the essential data foundations that support critical functions such as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Feedback & Development, and core employee data management. Our team is dedicated to the design, modeling, and reporting of high-quality, trusted people data. We foster close partnerships with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and data products that empower informed decision-making across the organization.
- • In this capacity, you will serve as the technical lead for our comprehensive people data ecosystem. Your responsibilities will encompass designing scalable data architecture, establishing rigorous engineering standards, and collaborating across the business to deliver high-value, trusted data products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in analytical engineering, a strategic vision for data, an intrinsic sense of curiosity, and the proven ability to lead through influence and collaboration.
- • You will play an instrumental role in shaping our data roadmap, championing the adoption of modern tooling and automation, elevating engineering best practices, and actively mentoring other analytics engineers. This is an exceptional opportunity to join our team and contribute to building the next generation of People Analytics at Affirm, directly impacting how we understand and develop our most valuable asset: our people.
- • **Key Responsibilities include:**
- • Design, develop, and deliver robust relational and non-relational database models, sophisticated data pipelines, and insightful reporting and visualization solutions. You will support all phases of the Analytics Development Life Cycle (ADLC), from initial requirements gathering and design through to development, rigorous testing, and seamless deployment.
- • Develop, maintain, and scale highly reliable ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate data from various HR sources, including but not limited to Workday, Greenhouse Recruiting, and internal tools like Arbor. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring the reliability, optimal performance, and future extensibility of these pipelines.
- • Architect and implement scalable data models meticulously optimized for efficient analytical querying and designed for long-term maintainability and adaptability.
- • Uphold the highest standards of data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data assets. This includes introducing and implementing automated processes and best practices for data monitoring, validation, and anomaly detection.
- • Collaborate closely with People Analytics stakeholders to deeply understand their needs and translate complex requirements into sound, effective technical solutions. You will also influence and guide longer-term data architecture decisions to align with strategic business objectives.
- • Manage and optimize our cloud data warehouse infrastructure, such as Snowflake, focusing on performance tuning, effective cost management, and implementing secure access patterns to protect sensitive data.
- • Proactively leverage cutting-edge technologies, including AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), to automate data quality checks, enhance metadata management processes, and extract valuable insights from unstructured HR data sources.
- • Stay abreast of the latest technology best practices and emerging trends in data engineering and analytics. Advocate for and champion engineering excellence throughout the People Analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- • Own and manage critical aspects of data governance, security, privacy, and retention standards across all People Analytics systems, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- • Contribute to the development of data products that provide actionable insights to business leaders, enabling data-driven strategies for talent management and organizational development.
