đź“‹ Description

  • • Standard Bots is on a mission to revolutionize real-world automation by dramatically reducing the complexity and cost of entry, thereby unlocking unprecedented productivity across a wide array of industries and user groups. Our innovative, user-centric applications and APIs are designed to harness the full potential of automation for novel use cases. By maintaining an unwavering commitment to simplicity and ease of use, we are bringing the transformative power of robotic automation to new markets and users who have historically been underserved by this technology.
  • • The Solutions Engineering team is at the forefront of driving Standard Bots' mission forward. This team is instrumental in architecting, implementing, and providing ongoing support for Standard Bots' cutting-edge 6-axis robot. As an Applications Engineer, you will be a key player in bridging the gap between our advanced robotic technology and the practical needs of our customers. You will collaborate closely with a diverse group of stakeholders, including fellow engineers, organizational leaders, sales teams, and directly with our customers, to conceptualize, deploy, and support sophisticated robotic solutions tailored for new and exciting applications.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to be a customer-facing problem-solver, deeply involved in shaping the future of robotics. You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire sales cycle, partnering with the sales team and directly engaging with customers to understand their unique challenges and co-create bespoke robotic solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in translating customer requirements into functional, efficient, and reliable automated systems.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves end-to-end ownership of installations. This will require you to travel to customer sites, where you will be responsible for the physical installation, precise programming, and thorough validation of Standard Bots' solutions in real-world operational environments. This hands-on involvement ensures that our technology is seamlessly integrated and performs optimally, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • • You will play a vital role in empowering our customers and the broader community by creating comprehensive technical enablement materials. This includes developing sample code, detailed application notes, and insightful white papers that guide users on how to maximize the value and capabilities of our robotic platform. Your contributions will foster greater adoption and deeper utilization of our technology.
  • • Collaboration extends to our in-house engineering teams. You will work closely with them to provide critical feedback from the field, assisting in the testing and refinement of new features, software updates, and integrations as our product continues to evolve and expand its capabilities. This feedback loop is essential for continuous product improvement and innovation.
  • • Furthermore, you will contribute to our marketing and business development efforts by developing compelling collateral. This content will effectively communicate the unique value proposition and transformative benefits of Standard Bots' solutions to prospective customers, helping to drive market awareness and adoption.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation, with hands-on experience spanning electrical, software, and mechanical systems. Proficiency in areas such as DC power, understanding NPN vs. PNP configurations, scripting in Python, and familiarity with CAD tools like SolidWorks are highly valued. Industry fluency, particularly within automotive, manufacturing, or industrial automation sectors, is essential. This includes a deep understanding of the operational constraints, typical workflows, and key stakeholders involved in deploying technology within a factory setting.
  • • Experience working directly within or alongside production or assembly environments is crucial. This operational context allows you to engage credibly with customers, discussing critical metrics such as cycle times, uptime requirements, safety standards, and the intricacies of integrating new equipment with existing machinery.
  • • A growth mindset is paramount; you should be energized by exploring new domains and tackling complex challenges, demonstrating a rapid ability to acquire new context and maximize your impact. Excellent communication skills, characterized by precision and empathy across written, verbal, and technical/non-technical interactions, are expected. A strong bias for impact, prioritizing user outcomes over purely technical elegance and executing with a sense of urgency, is key. You should naturally gravitate towards simple, reliable solutions and proactively identify opportunities for improvement in proposed or existing systems. Finally, the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving, high-expectation environments alongside a diverse and talented team is a defining characteristic of success in this role.
