- • Serve as a Video-Phone Interpreter between Arabic and English speakers across multiple industries including healthcare, 911, law enforcement, court, government, insurance, finance, education, and hospitality.
- • Render verbal interpretations accurately and concisely, preserving the meaning, tone, and intent of conversations without omissions or additions.
- • Conduct interpreting sessions via video or audio using a dedicated personal device such as a laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
- • Maintain professional demeanor and neutrality throughout all interpreting sessions, especially during high-stress or emotionally sensitive calls such as end-of-life discussions, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, or matters involving gender expression.
- • Adhere to established interpretation protocols and industry-specific terminology for medical, legal, financial, and emergency service contexts.
- • Respond promptly to on-demand interpreting requests and remain available during scheduled work hours with strict punctuality.
- • Participate in mandatory online, video, and audio training sessions to develop and maintain professional interpreting skills.
- • Type data accurately on assigned devices during interpreting sessions to fulfill job requirements and comply with client protocols.
- • Demonstrate cultural competency by recognizing regional dialects, accents, and cultural nuances to effectively communicate with Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals.
- • Avoid any interaction with LEP individuals outside the scope of client instructions and remain strictly confidential in all sessions.
- • Work from a secure, quiet home office environment free from background noise or distractions.
- • Operate a headset for prolonged periods and remain stationary in front of a computer and webcam for the majority of the workday.
- • Use company-provided software and systems to deliver interpreting services and adapt to technological updates that enhance service delivery.
- • Handle high call volumes and extended call durations without breaks when required by the nature of the service.
- • Follow all technical requirements including a minimum internet download speed of 5 Mbps, upload speed of 3 Mbps, ping ≤ 300 ms, and jitter ≤ 30 ms.
- • Ensure device compliance by avoiding restricted brands such as Kaspersky products and Huawei hardware.
- • Maintain accurate note-taking and retention skills to ensure high-fidelity interpretation.
- • Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in a diverse, global workplace.
- • Possess the physical ability to operate a keyboard and mouse, type with sufficient manual dexterity, and lift up to 26 lbs when necessary.
