- • Manage portfolios of non-performing residential and commercial loans with a focus on minimizing losses and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- • Facilitate loss mitigation and loan workout options including modifications, repayment plans, forbearance agreements, short sales, deeds-in-lieu, discounted payoffs, and cash cures.
- • Coordinate foreclosure, bankruptcy, litigation, and liquidation processes by collaborating with attorneys, servicers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- • Review loan documentation and conduct due diligence to assess portfolio risks and recommend resolution strategies that improve recovery outcomes.
- • Prepare and deliver portfolio reporting, status updates, and resolution recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
- • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in loan resolution workflows.
- • Ensure all activities strictly comply with investor guidelines, servicing requirements, and federal, state, and agency regulations including CFPB requirements.
- • Apply financial analysis techniques including discounted cash flow modeling and Net Present Value (NPV) analysis to evaluate loan resolution options.
- • Monitor market, liquidity, leverage, and operational risks and assess their impact on portfolio performance and recovery potential.
- • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze large datasets and support data-driven portfolio management decisions.
- • Maintain thorough knowledge of mortgage servicing practices, default management strategies, and industry best practices for non-performing loan resolution.
- • Leverage established industry relationships with mortgage servicers, attorneys, title companies, compliance providers, and third-party vendors to facilitate loan resolutions.
- • Stay current on federal and state mortgage servicing regulations and ensure all actions align with legal and compliance standards.
- • Balance loan retention strategies (e.g., modifications, repayment plans) with non-retention strategies (e.g., short sales, foreclosures, deeds-in-lieu) based on borrower circumstances and regulatory constraints.
- • Support timely resolution of delinquent loans through proactive portfolio monitoring and strategic decision-making.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial real estate, asset management, loss mitigation, non-performing loan workouts, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and related litigation.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- • Currently NMLS licensed or eligible to obtain licensing.
- • Strong understanding of mortgage servicing, loan resolution strategies, investor guidelines, and default management practices.
- • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for large dataset analysis and portfolio-level decision making.
- • Thorough understanding of federal and state mortgage servicing regulations, including CFPB requirements.
