- • Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to U.S. military service members and their families at military installations or via virtual platforms.
- • Assist service members in developing spending plans tailored to extended absences, including deployments or relocations.
- • Create and distribute informational financial materials to educate service members and their families on financial best practices.
- • Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle, including arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and career transitions as outlined in DoDI 1322.34.
- • Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial education seminars and tailored counseling sessions.
- • Utilize secure virtual counseling tools, including web-based chat, video teleconferencing, and online platforms, as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office.
- • Manage duty-to-warn situations in strict accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols.
- • Collaborate closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure program delivery aligns with installation needs and contractual scope.
- • Participate in regular individual and group supervision sessions, reporting trends, issues, and emerging needs observed on assigned installations.
- • Engage in mandatory in-service training, quality improvement committees, and other contract-specified activities as assigned.
- • Maintain compliance with all DoD, federal, and contractual requirements, including security protocols and organizational conflict of interest (OCI) disclosures.
- • Perform all other duties as assigned that align with the scope of personal financial counseling services for military populations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree
- • Minimum of 3 years of professional financial counseling experience
- • Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English
- • Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 security investigation
- • Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
