Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the monthly close end-to-end: drive reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting while continuously shortening timelines and improving accuracy. You’ll be the single source of truth for GAAP-compliant financials and will present findings directly to founders and investors.
- • Run accounts payable like clockwork: lead vendor onboarding, disbursements, and 1099 issuance with airtight controls and zero surprises. Build the approval matrix and spend policies that let the company move fast without leaking cash.
- • Protect revenue integrity across the entire quote-to-cash stack: partner with Sales to enforce pipeline hygiene in Salesforce, debug Q2C issues, and guarantee that every Closed-Won opportunity flows cleanly through invoice creation, Stripe billing, and NetSuite revenue recognition.
- • Handle day-to-day RevOps requests with speed and precision: router updates, routing issues, Salesforce field additions, and ad-hoc reporting. You’ll become the go-to problem solver for both Finance and Sales when the data doesn’t tie out.
- • Scale systems for hyper-growth: lead our NetSuite migration and integration with Salesforce and Stripe, including chart-of-accounts design, historical data migration, parallel-close readiness, and post-go-live optimization. Your blueprint will be the foundation for 10× transaction volume.
- • Enable teams with real-time visibility: build dashboards and automated reports that give Finance, Sales, and Executive leadership the metrics they need to forecast bookings, cash, and revenue without spreadsheets or manual exports.
- • Champion ASC 606 compliance in a SaaS environment: maintain deferred revenue schedules, subscription modifications, and disclosure notes that satisfy auditors and investors alike.
- • Design internal controls that scale: document policies, segregation of duties, and approval workflows that keep us audit-ready even as headcount and transaction volume explode.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally: translate technical accounting concepts into plain English for Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams so everyone understands the “why” behind the numbers.
- • Mentor future hires: as the first accounting hire, you’ll shape the culture of the finance org and lay the groundwork for the team you’ll one day lead.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with hands-on ownership of the monthly close; CPA strongly preferred
- • Proven track record with QuickBooks and at least one full-cycle NetSuite or ERP migration
- • Deep familiarity with Salesforce quote-to-cash workflows (billing, invoicing, integrations) and comfort debugging fields, flows, and validation rules
- • Working knowledge of Stripe (or Zuora/Chargebee) and ASC 606 compliance in a SaaS revenue model
- • Clear, confident communicator who can partner cross-functionally and hold the line on controls when needed
🏖️ Benefits
- • Be a core builder in an ambitious, globally minded startup backed by Benchmark Capital and Y Combinator
- • Learn hands-on how to scale international compliance systems alongside early Stripe, Airbnb, and Notion alumni
- • Work across every function and with leadership from day one, gaining exposure that typically takes years to earn
- • Enjoy a flexible, remote-first culture with strong mentorship, rapid ownership expansion, and zero red tape
