📋 Description

• Work as an Associate on lean, cross-functional teams alongside finance and technology experts to identify and resolve complex financial and operational challenges for private equity portfolio companies.
• Engage in end-to-end value creation initiatives by supporting the office of the CFO through financial consulting rooted in data, technology, and AI.
• Design structured processes to aggregate, validate, and standardize financial data sets to establish a single source of truth for reporting and forecasting.
• Develop and implement monthly Board and management reporting packages that combine automated data flows with insightful KPIs tailored to PE-backed environments.
• Build and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts by coordinating across departments including FP&A, sales, and operations.
• Leverage Excel tools including PowerQuery and PowerPivot to structure, analyze, model, and present complex datasets in user-friendly formats for CFOs and finance teams.
• Lead diagnostic deep dives into budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Design and implement a unified finance function following corporate acquisitions, including defining headcount, roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures.
• Select, configure, and implement ERP solutions that align with the operational needs of newly consolidated businesses.
• Create template reporting tools and analytical dashboards to enhance financial visibility and decision-making capabilities.
• Train existing FP&A teams to own and sustain newly implemented processes, tools, and forecast models.
• Develop detailed, week-by-week training plans for team members during organizational transitions and integrations.
• Travel regularly across Europe to work on-site with clients in various jurisdictions as part of client engagements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Private Equity sponsors, Investment Banking professionals, Big 4 consultants, and Financial Controllers.
• Prepare clear, succinct, and comprehensive reports, presentations, and memos to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Operate in a fluid, flat organizational structure with entrepreneurial autonomy while maintaining the highest professional standards.
• Balance project management responsibilities with hands-on execution across multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
• Contribute to the growth of Accordion’s European footprint by helping shape the London office’s presence and client delivery model.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, supportive environment aligned with the firm’s values.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the relationship between private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies to deliver context-aware solutions.
• Deliver exceptional client service through proactive communication, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics; Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MA in Finance) is beneficial
• Minimum 3+ years of experience at a top-tier private equity firm, investment bank, or consulting firm
• Strong quantitative skills with extreme attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including PowerQuery and PowerPivot for data modeling and analysis
• Demonstrated financial modeling and corporate valuation skills
• Proven ability to prepare clear, concise reports, presentations, and memos
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing projects with multiple workstreams
• Prior exposure to private equity portfolio company finance transformations
