  • • Work as an Associate on lean, cross-functional teams alongside finance and technology experts to identify and resolve complex financial and operational challenges for private equity-backed portfolio companies.
  • • Design structured processes to aggregate, validate, and standardize financial and operational data sets to establish a single source of truth for reporting and decision-making.
  • • Collaborate directly with CFOs, private equity sponsors, and operating teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs), verify business drivers, and develop monthly Board and management reporting packages.
  • • Build and automate financial reporting workflows using Excel, PowerQuery, and PowerPivot to transform complex datasets into user-friendly, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • • Develop and implement 13-week cash flow forecasts by coordinating across departments including sales, operations, and finance to support strategic decision-making.
  • • Lead the design and integration of a unified finance function following corporate acquisitions, including defining headcount, roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures across consolidated entities.
  • • Select, implement, and train teams on ERP systems tailored to the needs of newly combined businesses post-acquisition.
  • • Create detailed, week-by-week training plans for finance team members to ensure sustainable ownership of new processes and tools.
  • • Build analytical tools and standardized reporting templates to enhance financial visibility, planning accuracy, and business partnering capabilities.
  • • Deliver data-driven insights through clear, concise presentations, memos, and reports that align with the rigor and pace of private equity environments.
  • • Mentor and train existing FP&A teams to independently manage newly implemented processes, forecasting tools, and reporting cadences.
  • • Conduct diagnostic deep dives into budgeting and forecasting processes to uncover root causes of inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • • Operate in a hybrid model with flexibility to work remotely two days per week, based in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, or New York City office locations.
  • • Manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously while maintaining focus on individual project deliverables, balancing hands-on execution with project leadership responsibilities.
  • • Engage directly with clients across diverse industries including financial services, higher education, and post-acquisition consolidated enterprises.
  • • Maintain the highest professional standards in client interactions, data integrity, and deliverable quality under tight deadlines.
  • • Contribute to a collaborative, flat organizational culture that values initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, and continuous growth.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA is a plus
  • • Minimum 3 years of experience at a top-tier private equity firm, investment bank, and/or consulting firm
  • • High attention to detail and advanced quantitative skills, especially in financial modeling and corporate valuation
  • • Proven ability to leverage Excel, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, and other tools to manage, analyze, and present large, complex datasets
  • • Transactional finance experience and understanding of operational finance
  • • Prior experience preparing reports, presentations, and memos with clear, succinct, data-driven insights
