- • The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting role at Humana Inc. is a critical position responsible for analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, and market data to support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. This role directly contributes to Humana’s mission of putting health first by ensuring data integrity, identifying long-term business risks and opportunities, and providing actionable insights that shape financial and competitive positioning in the healthcare industry.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing complex financial and economic data to forecast short-, medium-, and long-term organizational performance; establishing key performance metrics and conducting root cause analysis on data anomalies; collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and develop cost-effective resolutions; ensuring data integrity through the development and execution of data flow processes and controls; influencing departmental strategy by making independent decisions on technical approaches for project components; and presenting complex analytical findings to diverse audiences in a clear, compelling manner.
- • The Analytics/Forecasting team operates within Humana’s actuarial and business intelligence functions, supporting enterprise-wide planning and performance management. As a remote nationwide position, this role offers flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with teams across Humana’s insurance services (Humana) and healthcare services (CenterWell) divisions, all united by a shared commitment to improving health outcomes for Medicare, Medicaid, individuals, families, military personnel, and broader communities.
- • In this role, the Associate Actuary will deepen expertise in actuarial science, financial forecasting, and healthcare economics while gaining exposure to strategic decision-making at a Fortune 500 healthcare leader. Success in this position can lead to advancement within Humana’s Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP), increased leadership responsibilities, and the opportunity to directly influence the financial sustainability and competitive positioning of one of the nation’s largest health and well-being companies.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree
- • 3+ years of experience analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, or market data to support strategic and operational decision-making
- • Financial planning and analysis experience including analysis of financial performance with the purpose of identifying key long-term business risks and opportunities
- • Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
- • Successful completion of three (3) actuarial exams administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or equivalent professional actuarial body
- • MAAA (Member, American Academy of Actuaries) credential
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
- • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences
