Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Embed within one of Jerry’s core business units — Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships — to own the analytical function end-to-end for that domain.
- • Define the right business questions before initiating analysis, pushing back on flawed or ambiguous problems to ensure focus on high-impact decisions.
- • Build and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reports using SQL (ClickHouse), Metabase, Python, and Jupyter Hub to track key performance indicators and surface actionable insights.
- • Conduct independent data analysis, including experimental design and interpretation, to inform product, growth, and operational decisions.
- • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, persuasive recommendations that drive alignment and action across product, engineering, finance, and operations teams.
- • Own the execution of initiatives beyond analysis — drive implementation of insights, collaborate directly with stakeholders, and ensure outcomes are delivered.
- • Operate as a first-principles problem solver: break down ambiguous challenges into testable hypotheses before touching data, prioritizing clarity over speed.
- • Communicate directly and precisely with leadership and cross-functional teams, avoiding jargon and burying the lede; ensure decisions are data-backed and clearly justified.
- • Act with ownership: take responsibility for fixing issues even outside your formal scope, treating business outcomes as if your name is on the door.
- • Work in a no-slides, no-fluff environment where only work that materially shifts business trajectory is prioritized — no reformatting decks or attending unnecessary meetings.
- • Collaborate with a team of 14 high-performing analysts, many with backgrounds in McKinsey, BCG, and Bain, who are focused on solving hard problems and scaling from 5M to 50M customers.
- • Contribute to Jerry’s mission of becoming the one-stop-shop for managing all physical assets by expanding beyond car insurance into home, motorcycle, and RV verticals.
- • Use tools including SQL (ClickHouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, and GitHub to deliver analyses and collaborate on code and data pipelines.
- • Influence leadership-level decisions by presenting data-driven narratives that connect insights to business outcomes and strategic priorities.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where ambiguity is common and initiative is expected — no hand-holding, no bureaucracy.
- • Deliver measurable impact by directly linking your analyses to improvements in key metrics such as customer acquisition, retention, conversion, or operational efficiency.
- • Work alongside engineers, product managers, and growth specialists to embed analytics into daily decision-making cycles across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company
- • Strong analytical skills with ability to independently pull, structure, and interpret data using SQL, Excel, or Python
- • Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable business impact
- • Clear, persuasive communication skills with ability to influence decisions at the leadership level
- • First-principles thinking mindset — prioritize defining the right problem before analyzing data
- • Comfort with execution ownership — not just analysis, but driving initiatives to completion
🏖️ Benefits
- • Health, dental, and vision coverage
- • Paid time off
- • Paid parental leave
- • 401(k) plan with employer matching
- • Wellness benefits
- • Equity opportunities as part of total compensation
