  • • Provide practical legal guidance to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations applicable to Airwallex’s entities across the Americas.
  • • Support the corporate development team in fundraising rounds, mergers and acquisitions, and related corporate transactions.
  • • Advise on and support market expansion and launches in new jurisdictions.
  • • Collaborate with global compliance and risk teams to align internal policies and procedures with Airwallex’s global standards.
  • • Draft and review referral agreements, marketing materials, and other commercial documents in partnership with business development, partnership, and marketing teams.
  • • Provide legal guidance on marketing, advertising, and promotional compliance matters.
  • • Advise on financial services regulation and corporate law matters affecting the company’s operations.
  • • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and partnership agreements.
  • • Handle capital markets-related legal matters, including IPOs, financing transactions, and securities law compliance.
  • • Manage transactional legal work, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing, and related deal execution.
  • • Advise public and private U.S. companies on corporate governance, securities law reporting obligations, and internal governance matters.
  • • Work cross-functionally with teams across legal, compliance, finance, product, and business development to deliver end-to-end legal support.
  • • Operate with partial telecommuting flexibility; required to be on-site at 215 Park Ave S, New York, NY 10003 when not working remotely.
  • • Ensure all legal activities align with Airwallex’s operating principles and global standards for a unified payments and financial platform.
  • • Apply AI tools to enhance legal analysis, streamline document review, and improve efficiency in legal workflows.
  • • Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory environments impacting fintech, payments, and financial services in the Americas.
  • • Contribute to the development and implementation of scalable legal frameworks to support rapid global growth.
  • • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders across multiple business units.
  • • Maintain accurate records of legal agreements, compliance documentation, and corporate governance filings.
  • • Ensure adherence to Airwallex’s applicant safety policy and ethical recruitment practices.

🎯 Requirements

  • • J.D. or U.S. equivalent in Law
  • • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • • 2 years of professional experience providing legal advice on financial services regulation and corporate law within a technology company or international law firm
  • • 2 years of professional experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and partnership agreements
  • • 2 years of professional experience advising on marketing, advertising, and promotional compliance
  • • 2 years of professional experience handling capital markets-related legal matters, including IPOs, M&A, and financing transactions
