  • • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters impacting Airwallex’s entities across the Americas.
  • • Support Corporate Development on fundraising rounds and strategic transactions, including due diligence, data room management, investment documentation, cap table updates, and corporate approvals.
  • • Partner with regional business leaders, Regulatory Legal, and Regulatory Compliance teams to facilitate market entry and expansion across the Americas, addressing regulatory mapping, entity formation, licensing, and governance requirements.
  • • Align Airwallex’s global corporate policies, procedures, and governance frameworks with legal and regulatory standards in the US and broader Americas region.
  • • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including referral agreements, marketing partnerships, sponsorship deals, and other go-to-market arrangements in collaboration with Partnerships, Marketing, and GTM teams.
  • • Advise on legal and regulatory compliance for marketing, advertising, and promotional activities, including digital campaigns, claims substantiation, disclosures, co-marketing programs, and customer-facing materials.
  • • Manage and coordinate outside counsel across the Americas, ensuring advice is cost-effective, high-quality, and aligned with Airwallex’s risk appetite and business objectives.
  • • Leverage AI-enabled legal tools—such as contract lifecycle management systems, templates, playbooks, and knowledge bases—to enhance the speed, consistency, and quality of legal deliverables.
  • • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Finance, Product, Compliance, Risk, and Corporate Development across multiple time zones.
  • • Translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-lawyer stakeholders to enable responsible, accelerated growth.
  • • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US federal and state financial services regulations, including money transmission laws and payments industry requirements in the Americas.
  • • Contribute to the development and implementation of scalable legal processes that support Airwallex’s high-growth, global business model.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Juris Doctor (or equivalent) from a reputable law school
  • • Active membership in at least one US State Bar, in good standing
  • • 3+ years of experience in financial services and corporate law, preferably at a fast-growing tech or fintech company and/or a top-tier law firm
  • • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating corporate and commercial agreements
  • • In-depth knowledge of US and Americas legal and regulatory environment as it pertains to fintech and payments
  • • Proven ability to manage and lead outside counsel while controlling costs and consolidating advice into clear recommendations
