📋 Description
- • The Associate Database Administrator role at Harris Computer Systems Corporation is critical for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of database systems supporting global enterprise applications. This position plays a key role in maintaining high-availability environments and providing expert-level support for complex database issues.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include performing 24x7 shift work with flexible scheduling, monitoring database performance using management tools, documenting incidents and resolutions in case records and knowledge base articles, preparing technical and operational documentation, reporting defects to development teams, mentoring team members, conducting root cause analysis of recurring issues, acting as a single point of contact for escalations, and proactively reviewing hosting environments to enhance system reliability.
- • The team operates within a global support structure focused on maintaining highly available cross-enterprise middleware and database systems. The company emphasizes technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem prevention across a large, distributed network.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies, gain experience in enterprise-scale database administration, develop mentoring and coaching abilities, improve cross-functional collaboration with development teams, and build proficiency in cloud, virtualization, and automation tools while contributing to system reliability and knowledge management initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 1+ years of work experience in database administration or related technical support
- • Mandatory skills in SQL installation, patching, support, maintenance, and high availability configurations
- • Ability to work 24x7 shifts, including weekends, with flexible scheduling to meet operational needs
- • Proficiency in communicating progress and resolutions to clients and documenting work in case records
- • Experience with performance monitoring using database management tools to identify and resolve issues
- • Skill in documenting problems and solutions as knowledge base articles and reviewing content from others
