- • Own the end-to-end analytics charter for JioHotstar’s content and marketing functions, translating India’s 750-million-weekly-viewer data into clear, board-level narratives that decide which originals get green-lit, which sports rights we bid for, and how we personalize every user’s home screen.
- • Architect and continuously evolve a scalable analytical framework that stitches together content metadata, real-time viewership logs, social sentiment, and subscription/ads revenue to forecast ROI of every rupee we invest in stories and stars.
- • Lead a high-performing team of 8-12 analysts and data scientists across Mumbai and Bengaluru; set quarterly OKRs, coach on advanced experimentation design, and create a culture where every team member can pitch bold hypotheses and see them tested on India’s largest streaming audience.
- • Partner with VPs of Content, Marketing, and Product in a matrix structure—be the “first call” when they need to know why a Tamil thriller over-indexed in Gujarat, or how a pre-IPL campaign moved free-to-paid conversion by 3.2 pp.
- • Design and run rigorous A/B and multivariate tests on recommendation algorithms, thumbnail artwork, push-notification cadence, and pricing; publish learnings in internal playbooks that raise the analytics bar across JioStar.
- • Leverage GenAI and large-language models to automate content tagging at scale, generate synthetic audience panels for pre-launch testing, and surface emerging genre trends before competitors even sense them.
- • Build and govern self-service dashboards in Tableau/Looker that empower 200+ non-technical stakeholders to slice cohorts, track funnel KPIs, and simulate P&L impact without writing a line of SQL.
- • Oversee the data engineering roadmap—specify ETL pipelines, schema design, and real-time instrumentation in Snowflake, Hive, and Kafka to ensure 99.9 % uptime and sub-second query latency during live cricket spikes.
- • Translate complex statistical models into crisp, 10-slide business stories for the C-suite; present weekly in “Data vs. Drama” sessions where green-light decisions worth ₹500 Cr+ are made in 30 minutes.
- • Stay on the bleeding edge—evaluate new data vendors, privacy-safe clean rooms, and causal-inference techniques; run quarterly hackathons that turn prototypes into production features within 60 days.
- • Champion diversity of thought: recruit from non-traditional analytics backgrounds (behavioral psych, journalism, economics) and ensure every insight considers India’s multilingual, multi-generational reality.
- • Ultimately, be the person who helps JioStar not just understand what 750 million Indians watched last night, but predict what they’ll crave tomorrow—and deliver it before anyone else.
