📋 Description
- • As an Associate Director, Business Development in Illumina’s BioInsight Business Unit, you will drive strategic partnerships that accelerate multiomics and AI-driven drug discovery, directly impacting human health through genomic innovation.
- • Day to day, you will source and advance partnership pipelines, lead end-to-end deal execution from scoping to close, build senior relationships with pharma and biotech partners, and collaborate with Illumina’s R&D teams to align business strategy with scientific advancements in genomics, target discovery, and multiomics.
- • You will join BioInsight, Illumina’s newest business unit focused on delivering deeper biological insights from large-scale multiomic data by integrating sequencing capabilities, enterprise software, and AI innovation to empower pharma and biotech partners in accelerating drug discovery.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in structuring high-value partnerships across target discovery, clinical and population genomics, data licensing, and bioinformatics, while gaining influence across a mission-driven organization committed to health equity and genomic innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 15 years of related experience, with 7+ years of management experience
- • 7+ years of experience in business development including revenue growth performance
- • Demonstrated deal track record with ability to discuss specific transactions, role, and outcomes
- • BA/BS in Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences field
- • Familiarity with how genomic and functional datasets are applied across early discovery, target validation, translational research, and clinical development
- • Established network within pharma and/or biotech
