- • This role is a field-based, remote Associate Director of Business Development for Biologics at Lonza Group Ltd., responsible for driving new customer relationships and revenue growth in the US West territory by promoting Lonza’s Biologics portfolio, including Early Development, Mammalian, and Drug Product services.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include hunting and securing new clinical and commercial contracts, developing and executing a strategic territory plan, promoting Lonza’s technical capabilities through tailored presentations, building executive relationships with scientists and C-suite leaders, collaborating with Global Marketing and Product Development teams, navigating internal matrix structures to leverage SMEs and Operations, and maintaining accurate pipeline data in SalesForce.com.
- • The role sits within Lonza’s global Commercial organization, a scientifically driven, innovation-focused company with 30+ sites across five continents, where Collaboration, Accountability, Excellence, Passion, and Integrity guide how teams work together to manufacture medicines of tomorrow.
- • In this role, you will develop advanced commercial and technical sales expertise, strengthen your ability to influence complex matrix organizations, deepen your knowledge of biologics development and commercialization pathways, and grow your impact as a trusted advisor to biotech and pharma clients—positioning you for senior leadership in life sciences business development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven track record of delivering year-on-year business targets by identifying, structuring, and closing complex, high-value outsourcing or service deals in the life sciences sector
- • Deep, foundational understanding of drug development, clinical manufacturing, and commercialization pathways for biological therapeutics
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering (Biology, Biochemistry, or related technical field); advanced degrees or MBA are a distinct advantage
- • High level of professional gravitas, exceptional presentation skills, and ability to independently generate and deliver technical sales decks
- • Practical, hands-on proficiency with SalesForce.com or equivalent CRM for opportunity and pipeline management
- • Adept at building internal networks and navigating complex, multi-site global matrix organizations to optimize technical and executive support
