- • Ensures the integrity and compliance of revenue recognition policies in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for gross, net, and deferred revenue activities across global therapeutic areas.
- • Develops, recommends, and maintains INCR revenue recognition principles, policies, processes, systems, controls, and procedures to meet financial reporting requirements and business needs.
- • Records and reports project revenues for all contract types in full compliance with GAAP and company revenue recognition policy, ensuring adherence to monthly accounting close schedules.
- • Oversees and improves unbilled and deferred revenue accounting and reporting processes to enhance accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- • Provides global ownership for therapeutic areas to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies and implements new control processes as needed.
- • Collaborates with therapeutic area teams on project close-out activities and project tracker balances to ensure month-end financial profiles accurately reflect project status.
- • Conducts quarterly reviews of company financial applications and documents all related processes and procedures to maintain GAAP and corporate policy compliance.
- • Reviews, approves, and negotiates proposals, change orders, and contract payment milestone terms to align with corporate profit and liquidity targets.
- • Prepares monthly reviews and executive summaries of project results and financial metrics, identifying underperforming projects and recommending corrective actions to executive management.
- • Maintains current and accurate backlog reporting, explaining significant variances and highlighting key changes from prior periods in executive-level summaries.
- • Ensures all reporting activities exceed company requirements to enable rapid, data-driven business decisions.
- • If assigned, manages and directs a team of finance professionals, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, terminations, training, counseling, and discipline of direct reports.
- • Works closely with cross-functional teams to align financial reporting with therapeutic area objectives and global business strategies.
- • Delivers clear, concise documentation and presentations to executive leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- • Supports continuous improvement of financial systems and controls to enhance efficiency and compliance across global operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent education and experience with extensive progressive financial experience
- • Demonstrated leadership skills with at least one year of direct management experience preferred
- • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, MAS90, or related accounting packages; Oracle experience preferred
- • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- • Effective presentation, documentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach; CPA or CMA preferred
