- • Lead the development and execution of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) strategies for Novartis products across their entire lifecycle to support market access and commercialization.
- • Serve as a strategic partner to Medical, Commercial, Market Access, and Scientific Communications teams to integrate HEOR evidence into integrated evidence plans (IEPs) that demonstrate product value to payers, regulators, and patients.
- • Design, oversee, and manage observational research, real-world evidence (RWE) studies, economic modeling, patient-reported outcomes, patient preference studies, and registries to inform regulatory and payer decision-making.
- • Ensure all HEOR research adheres to the highest standards of scientific rigor and methodological integrity in alignment with industry best practices.
- • Manage multiple concurrent HEOR projects, including budget oversight, external vendor relationships, and internal stakeholder alignment to deliver timely and high-quality outputs.
- • Generate and communicate compelling HEOR evidence to optimize patient access and product value in the U.S. healthcare market.
- • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at major scientific conferences and forums to enhance Novartis’s scientific credibility and thought leadership.
- • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external institutions, researchers, and key opinion leaders to advance HEOR capabilities and expand the evidence base for Novartis products.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including VELs, Medical Affairs, and Government Affairs to align HEOR activities with go-to-market strategies, reimbursement strategies, and health technology assessment (HTA) requirements.
- • Translate complex health economics and outcomes data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences including payers, policymakers, and internal stakeholders.
- • Drive innovation in HEOR methodologies and applications to support product differentiation and competitive positioning in evolving healthcare landscapes.
- • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in all HEOR research activities and data use.
- • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior HEOR scientists and team members to foster professional growth and scientific excellence.
- • Represent the HEOR function in cross-functional product teams to shape research priorities and ensure HEOR is embedded in early-stage product planning.
- • Apply deep expertise in pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment (HTA), reimbursement strategies, and pricing strategies to support market access initiatives.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving U.S. healthcare policies, payer landscape dynamics, and regulatory requirements impacting HEOR evidence generation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Health Economics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or related field required
- • PhD or PharmD with strong focus in Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related fields preferred
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector in health economics, market access, or related functions
- • Expert knowledge of Health Economics, Outcomes Research, and Real-World Evidence including study design, methodologies, economic modeling, data sources, and analyses
