📋 Description
- • The Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison – Pain, US role at Viatris Inc. is a field-based position responsible for engaging with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders to provide scientific, non-promotional information about Viatris medicines in the pain therapeutic area. This role supports the Medical Affairs team by building external relationships, gathering insights, and contributing to medical education strategies that align with company objectives.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and executing stakeholder engagement plans for key opinion leaders and healthcare providers, documenting interactions in VEEVA, responding to unsolicited medical requests, preparing monthly activity summaries, submitting expense and PTO reports, and identifying unmet medical education needs and competitive activities to inform internal strategy.
- • The role involves collaboration with the US Pain MSL Team Lead and US Pain Medical Lead to develop innovative, non-promotional medical education materials such as slide decks and videos, staffing medical affairs booths at congresses, and providing internal training on products and disease states using approved materials.
- • The position requires extensive travel (50%-80% of time), including overnight and weekend trips, and is based remotely within the United States. Success in this role contributes to advancing Viatris’ medical strategy in pain management by generating real-world insights and strengthening external scientific engagement.

🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical (e.g., hospital/patient care) industry
- • Advanced degree (MD) highly preferred; experience in Pain Management is required
- • Must possess knowledge of US Pain MSL roles, clinical trials, SOPs, Federal/State promotional laws, PhRMA Code, ACCME Standards, and Viatris Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- • Ability to communicate effectively, build collaborative relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and patient advocacy groups, and demonstrate strong analytic and organizational skills in interpreting and presenting clinical data
- • Comfortable with extensive travel (50%-80% of time), including overnight and weekend stays, and proficiency in English (speaking, comprehending, reading, writing)
