📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end financial modeling for Medicare Advantage bid strategy, connecting benefit design decisions to plan economics through MCR analysis, PMPM normalization, and version-over-version delta tracking across pricing iterations.
• Design and pressure-test benefit structures across multi-state plan portfolios to identify adverse selection risks, quantify financial exposure, and recommend adjustments that improve risk posture and protect plan performance.
• Monitor and interpret CMS regulatory changes, payment methodology updates, risk adjustment adjustments, and Stars payment modifications to assess downstream impact on benefit strategy and plan economics, delivering executive-level insights.
• Build and refine scalable algorithms that generate precise benefit values across hundreds of Plan Benefit Packages (PBPs), translating strategic intent into implementable logic while identifying and resolving edge cases.
• Support new product and plan flavor development from initial opportunity sizing and financial viability assessments through full benefit build-out, providing analytical groundwork for leadership decisions and executing implementation.
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis to evaluate portfolio decisions including plan terminations, crosswalks, Stars implications, market entry/exit tradeoffs, and member impact of structural product changes.
• Synthesize complex analytical findings into clear, decision-enabling recommendations for senior leadership and executive teams, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives.
• Write and maintain production-grade SQL (Snowflake) pipelines including multi-CTE queries for benefit cascade calculations, lead/non-lead enforcement logic, MCR-driven benefit deterioration and enrichment, and bid review outputs.
• Develop Python scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual effort in the bid cycle, including benefit workbook generation, data validation, and analytical tooling that scales with a growing plan portfolio.
• Actively leverage AI tools — including agentic workflows and AI-assisted code generation — as core components of daily work, contributing to the evolution of AI-powered bid operations and infrastructure.
• Operate with full ownership across strategic framing and granular benefit parameters, shifting seamlessly between high-level portfolio strategy and low-level technical implementation.
• Collaborate closely with actuarial, finance, and executive leadership teams to align benefit design with financial sustainability, competitive positioning, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain a deep understanding of Medicare Advantage ecosystem incentives, rule structures, and competitor behavior, seeking to understand the system beyond mere execution.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-output remote team with minimal process overhead, where collaboration, accountability, and high standards are the norm.
• Translate analytically complex work into tight, executive-ready outputs, balancing speed with precision and labeling assumptions explicitly when working with incomplete data.

🎯 Requirements

• Direct experience with Medicare Advantage bid mechanics, including understanding of BPTs, MCR constraints, and bid math
• 5–8 years of relevant experience at a Medicare Advantage health plan or actuarial/consulting firm (e.g., Milliman, Wakely, Oliver Wyman)
• Fluency in writing complex SQL (Snowflake), including multi-CTE pipelines for benefit calculation systems
• Proficiency in Python for building automation scripts and analytical workflows
• Ability to operate independently with strong business judgment and comfort with ambiguity
• Strong modeling skills: building analytical frameworks from scratch, interpreting bid and actuarial data, and translating findings into strategic recommendations
