- • The Associate Director, Safety Scientist at BeiGene leads safety science activities for early and late-stage clinical development, ensuring high-quality safety analysis and risk management in alignment with ICH standards.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading signal detection and evaluation, analyzing safety data from internal and external sources, authoring safety assessment reports, and supporting clinical trial safety monitoring across global studies.
- • The role involves close collaboration with Product Safety Physician Leads, cross-functional teams, and regulatory bodies to prepare safety documentation for submissions, DSURs, and safety communications such as investigator brochures and risk management plans.
- • As part of a matrix team within the Global Pharmacovigilance and Safety (GPS) department, the individual contributes to safety governance meetings, leads safety-specific investigator training, and promotes pharmacovigilance excellence through scientific rigor and clear communication.
- • The position supports the company’s mission to develop innovative cancer therapeutics by ensuring patient safety is rigorously evaluated throughout the product lifecycle, with minimal travel (<10%) and no direct reports.
🎯 Requirements
- • PharmD or PhD in a medical or biological science with 4+ years of pharmacovigilance experience in an analytical role
- • RN with 8+ years of pharmacovigilance experience in an analytical role
- • MD (or equivalent) with completed residency/post-medical training, 4+ years of clinical experience, and 2+ years in biotech/pharma safety science, clinical development, or research
- • Advanced proficiency in MedDRA and intermediate skills in safety databases for information retrieval
- • Expertise in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data visualization tools like Spotfire
