- • Lead a high-performing research team to advance breakthrough discoveries in cancer biology, cancer immunology, immunology, protein engineering, or AI-driven protein design.
- • Establish clear program goals and milestones to drive scientific excellence and ensure timely delivery of research outcomes.
- • Communicate research progress through regular updates, proactively identifying challenges and proposing actionable solutions to maintain momentum.
- • Support the Group Leader, BeOne Institute by building, developing, and mentoring a team of scientists to enhance their technical and scientific expertise.
- • Foster a collaborative research environment that encourages innovation and translates novel ideas into transformative therapeutic candidates.
- • Contribute to the development of research strategy aligned with BeOne’s R&D priorities and long-term vision in targeted therapeutic areas.
- • Provide scientific guidance and influence decision-making within your research group while contributing to broader organizational discussions.
- • Lead cross-disciplinary and cross-functional collaborations to integrate multi-disciplinary approaches in solving complex biological problems.
- • Operate within BeOne Institute’s three core principles: Bold Exploration, Strategic Alignment, and Pipeline Impact to transform uncertainty into high-impact therapeutic opportunities.
- • Supervise or mentor individual contributors and/or lead project-based teams as dictated by business needs.

- • Work onsite in San Carlos, California, as required by the position.
🎯 Requirements
- • Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent advanced degree in cancer biology, cancer immunology, immunology, protein engineering, AI-driven protein design, or a related life sciences discipline
- • 8+ years of relevant post-degree experience, including postdoctoral and/or industry research experience with a strong track record in drug discovery or impactful scientific achievements
- • Demonstrated scientific leadership and potential to lead a research group, with experience influencing cross-functional collaborations
- • Experience providing guidance and mentorship to support the professional development of team members
- • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment and integrate multi-disciplinary approaches to solve complex biological problems
- • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
