- • The Associate Medical Director, Italy role is a customer-facing leadership position responsible for executing the medical launch strategy for aficamten in Italy, supporting the rollout of Cytokinetics’ pipeline therapies for cardiac muscle dysfunction, and serving as a national scientific leader for healthcare providers, patients, and internal stakeholders.
- • Day to day, the individual will lead and mentor a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team, manage KOL and HCP engagement, ensure compliance in scientific interactions, train the MSL team on emerging aficamten data, support clinical trial activities, coordinate advisory boards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, Market Access, and Pharmacovigilance.
- • Cytokinetics is a specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company with over 25 years of innovation in muscle biology, dedicated to advancing medicines for cardiac muscle dysfunction, with a patient-centered culture grounded in integrity, ethics, and scientific rigor.
- • In this role, the person will develop expertise in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and heart failure therapeutics, build leadership experience in managing field medical teams, gain deep insight into the Italian healthcare and regulatory landscape, and contribute to European medical strategy while shaping the future of Cytokinetics’ medical affairs presence in Italy.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced Medical or scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)
- • 10+ Years of relevant working experience in Medical Affairs within pharma/biotech
- • Demonstrated leadership skills with a successful track record in managing/coordinating field-based medical teams or medical science liaisons (MSL)
- • Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, regulatory environment, and medical practices within Italy
- • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Italian and English
- • Experience with Veeva or another CRM system
