Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Fermi Ai as an Associate Product Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of learning. We are on a mission to build the premier AI-first learning platform for middle and high school STEM education, designed to foster genuine understanding and elevate student performance in both classroom settings and examinations. Our innovative platform is already being utilized by students and schools, with active pilots underway in India and the United States. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated and action-oriented Product Manager to contribute significantly to the development of our consumer-facing experience.
- • As an Associate Product Manager at Fermi Ai, you will be immersed in the practicalities of building real products, moving beyond theoretical discussions to hands-on execution. You will work directly alongside the founding team, gaining invaluable exposure to critical product and company decisions. This role is designed for deep engagement, offering substantial ownership and a deliberately steep learning curve. Your contributions will directly impact the trajectory of our product and the learning experiences of countless students.
- • Your core responsibilities will involve translating abstract product ideas into tangible, actionable components. This includes meticulously breaking down concepts into clear user stories, defining precise requirements, and establishing robust acceptance criteria that ensure successful implementation. You will be a crucial bridge between product vision and engineering execution, collaborating closely with our engineering team throughout the entire development lifecycle – from initial planning and meticulous building to rigorous testing and timely feature shipment.
- • Design collaboration is also a key facet of this role. You will partner with our design team to craft intuitive user experience flows, refine interactions, and ensure a polished, user-friendly interface that delights our young learners. Beyond development, your analytical skills will be paramount. You will be responsible for analyzing usage data, tracking learning outcomes, and synthesizing user feedback to inform and guide our product decisions. This data-driven approach will be essential for iterating and improving our platform.
- • Furthermore, you will actively support and manage experiments, pilot programs, and feature rollouts involving real students. This hands-on involvement in testing and deployment will provide critical insights for future development. A significant part of your role will be to help prioritize the product backlog, making informed decisions based on a careful assessment of potential impact, development effort, and the overall learning value each feature brings.
- • To ensure clarity and alignment across the team, you will be expected to write clear and concise product specifications, experiment briefs, and post-launch analyses that are not just documents, but tools that the team actively uses and trusts. Your ability to communicate complex ideas effectively will be a cornerstone of your success.
- • Success in this role is multifaceted and will be measured by several key indicators. We expect features to be shipped on time and, more importantly, to be actively and effectively used by real students. We aim for engineers to trust the clarity and accuracy of your requirements, fostering a smooth and efficient development process. Product decisions should demonstrably be backed by solid data and deep user insight, ensuring we are building what our users need. Crucially, we will look for measurable improvements in learning outcomes and student engagement as a direct result of your work. Over time, you will be expected to take increasing ownership of specific product areas, demonstrating growth and expertise.
- • We are looking for individuals who have a proven track record of building or shipping something tangible before. This could be through personal projects, entrepreneurial ventures, side projects, or impactful internships – the origin of your practical experience is less important than the fact that you have brought something real to life.
- • This role is an ideal fit for individuals who are early in their product management careers and possess an insatiable eagerness to learn by doing. If you excel at transforming ambiguous, messy problems into concrete, well-defined solutions, you will thrive here. You should be comfortable and adept at working closely with engineers, asking insightful questions, and fostering a collaborative environment. A genuine curiosity about data and a willingness to dive deep into metrics are essential. A passion for education, learning, or the potential of AI-powered products will further enhance your fit.
- • Conversely, this role may not be the best fit if you are seeking a highly structured, slow-moving product organization with rigid processes. If you prefer spending your time on strategy decks rather than actively shipping real features, this environment might not align with your preferences. We do not expect perfect requirements or all the answers upfront; rather, we embrace the iterative nature of product development. If you are uncomfortable with ambiguity or rapid iteration, this fast-paced setting might present challenges. We are building something new, and that requires adaptability and a proactive approach.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in product management, with a track record of shipping features or products.
- • Strong ability to translate user needs and business goals into clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- • Experience collaborating effectively with engineering and design teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret usage data, user feedback, and learning outcomes to inform product decisions.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear product specifications and analyses.
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work directly with a founding team and gain deep insights into startup operations.
- • Significant ownership and impact on a product used by real students.
- • Steep learning curve with exposure to all facets of product development and company strategy.
- • Competitive salary and potential for equity.
- • Flexible remote work environment (with required on-site presence in Bengaluru).
- • Contribute to a mission-driven company focused on improving education through AI.
