- • As an Associate Retailer Marketing Manager at Unilever, you will play a pivotal role in extending the brand strategy and activation platforms of the Seventh Generation brand to grocery retailers across the USA. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing end-to-end programming designed to drive profitable volume and enhance brand equity within the competitive retail landscape.
- • You will be instrumental in creating impactful retail marketing programs by deeply understanding industry insights and translating them into actionable events. This involves a comprehensive approach, from initial concept development through to meticulous analysis of investments and business results, ensuring every initiative contributes to our strategic objectives.
- • Working in close collaboration with the Retailer Marketing Lead, you will be a key player in pulling through the overarching brand strategy at our key grocery and other retail partners, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand presence.
- • A core responsibility will be the development and execution of world-class integrated and collaborative retailer marketing plans. These programs must align with national campaign goals and brand 'Jobs-to-be-Done,' while also being tailored to the unique positioning and objectives of each specific retailer.
- • Your initiatives should aim to drive category growth, promote seamless omni-channel shopping experiences, facilitate cross-category conversion, and ultimately be profitable for both Seventh Generation and our retail partners, fostering mutually beneficial relationships.
- • You will own the entire lifecycle of retailer marketing programs, from annual planning and defining agency/media briefs to providing overall guidance and managing relationships with agency partners. This includes overseeing creative reviews and conducting thorough program evaluations.
- • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key brand contacts, as well as the sales team, will be crucial for delivering against brand/portfolio objectives and supporting field team efforts.
- • You will be responsible for the timely flow of essential documentation, including proposals, project estimates, reports, and comprehensive program evaluations. Providing a clear point-of-view on appropriate spending for retailer-led marketing initiatives will be a key contribution.
- • Upon program completion, you will meticulously evaluate Shopper Marketing programs. The findings and recommendations from these evaluations will offer a comprehensive view of program performance, return on investment (ROI), sales results, and relevant market information. These program recaps will be shared with demand generation, brand, and sales teams, and will serve as critical input for optimizing future strategies.
- • You will manage agency partners effectively, ensuring they meet the requirements outlined in briefs and excel in all account management responsibilities, including program deliverables and financial management.
- • This role demands a 'dot connector' mentality, requiring you to manage a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the right connections are made both inside and outside the company, including with agencies, third-party partners, and customers.
- • You will embrace a 'love to win, and have fun doing it' attitude, working directly with customers and a brand poised for growth. This involves finding creative solutions to drive business forward in a constantly evolving competitive landscape.
- • A 'storyteller' ability is essential, as compelling narratives are critical for educating and inspiring retailers in support of our campaigns. Your creativity will be leveraged to build and deliver these impactful stories.
- • As a 'changemaker,' you will fully embrace Unilever's 'Connected for Growth' philosophy, working on both short- and long-term strategies. You will develop innovative solutions aimed at changing shopper behavior and driving business transformation.
- • You will act as a 'culture and change champion,' thinking differently and adapting to the ever-changing, competitive environment that brands operate within.
- • Success in this role requires a demonstrated commitment to accountability for delivered results, coupled with the initiative to accept high levels of delegated responsibility and work with minimal supervision.
- • You will leverage demonstrated marketing skills within a digitally connected ecosystem, applying them to drive brand success.
- • The ability to think strategically and produce tangible results in a highly entrepreneurial environment is paramount.
- • You will take a lead role in identifying and presenting new opportunities to grow both the Seventh Generation brands and the broader category at the customer level.
- • Developing comprehensive 360-marketing plans, including the strategic use of digital channels to drive conversion for new and existing products both in-store and online, will be a key output.
- • Strong collaboration skills are essential, working seamlessly with Demand Gen, E-commerce, Sales teams, and directly with the Retailer to achieve mutual objectives as a unified team.
- • Creative thinking to approach initiatives differently than historical plans will be highly valued, driving innovation and differentiation.
- • Strong communication and influencing skills are necessary to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- • The ability to oversee and track multiple projects simultaneously, managing varying due dates, requirements, and priorities, is critical for success in this dynamic role.
