- • As an Assurance Manager within RSM US LLP's public sector assurance practice, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client service to a diverse range of organizations, including municipal, provincial, and federal governments, as well as prominent not-for-profit organizations and large philanthropic foundations.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to provide timely, high-quality client service that consistently meets or exceeds client expectations. This involves meticulously coordinating the auditing of all required financial statements, ensuring accuracy in related disclosures, and managing the delivery of other critical client deliverables.
- • A key aspect of this role is the ability to assess risks effectively. You will be responsible for designing and communicating clear, actionable audit procedures to your engagement teams, ensuring a robust and efficient audit process.
- • You will be expected to deeply understand and proficiently utilize RSM’s established Audit Methodology, ensuring consistency and quality across all engagements.
- • This position requires strong leadership capabilities, as you will manage multiple engagement teams simultaneously. A crucial part of your role will be to conduct and deliver comprehensive end-of-engagement evaluations for staff, providing constructive feedback and fostering professional growth.
- • You will leverage your expertise to understand the unique skillsets and capabilities of Senior Associates and Supervisors. Your role involves closely monitoring and reviewing their work product, providing insightful performance feedback, and articulating clear coaching notes throughout the audit process.
- • As an in-charge supervisor, you will guide Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teams, facilitating fieldwork by diligently monitoring and reporting on team productivity and adherence to work plan schedules for each assignment.
- • Maintaining proactive and continuous contact with clients throughout the year is essential. This involves understanding the impact of significant developments within their organizations and assessing how these changes might affect current year audit engagements.
- • You will actively contribute to the development of others within the Firm. This includes facilitating levels-based or industry-specific training, providing guidance on career development, and participating in other strategic Firm initiatives aimed at talent development.
- • Staying abreast of industry trends is paramount. You will subscribe to and actively read relevant industry publications, sharing pertinent information with clients where it is considered applicable and beneficial.
- • A critical leadership function is the ability to anticipate and proactively address client concerns, escalating issues to senior management as they arise to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- • You will develop a comprehensive understanding of RSM’s various lines of business and the availability of our services. Where appropriate, you will discuss opportunities with client management to make valuable introductions to other specialists within the firm, fostering cross-service collaboration.
- • A significant part of your role will involve developing and executing a strategy to leverage relationships external to the firm with different types of Centers of Influence, thereby effectuating business growth and expanding RSM's reach.
- • You will be responsible for managing the profitability of your assigned projects, ensuring financial objectives are met while maintaining high service quality.
- • You will identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to Senior Managers and Partners, providing clear and concise analysis.
- • Proactively identify opportunities for performance improvement within client organizations and within the audit process itself.
- • You are expected to ensure your own professional development through ongoing education and training, staying current with the latest accounting and auditing standards.
- • You will keep abreast of the latest developments affecting Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Firm’s standards and policies, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- • A willingness to travel up to 25% of the year is required, depending on the needs of your clients, to provide on-site support and build strong client relationships.
