📋 Description

• As an Automation Lead at PactFi Inc., you will own and scale the end-to-end test automation strategy for a secure, bank-grade platform managing complex private credit transactions, directly contributing to the reliability and scalability of infrastructure serving a market projected to grow to $17T in AUM.
• You will lead both the technical execution and strategic vision of test automation, ensuring high-confidence releases in a high-stakes financial environment where platform reliability is critical to capital allocation, KYC, document sharing, and funds flow for institutional clients.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include owning the design and evolution of the automated testing framework using Playwright, establishing best practices for E2E, integration, and regression testing, and driving test coverage across critical financial workflows such as deal lifecycle, cash flows, and reporting.
• You will build and maintain robust Playwright test suites in TypeScript/JavaScript, develop reusable testing utilities and fixtures, implement parallelization and flakiness mitigation strategies, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• You will translate complex financial workflows—including loan servicing, covenant tracking, and capital calls—into deterministic test cases, validate data integrity across APIs, databases, and reporting layers, and collaborate with product and domain experts to identify edge cases and risk scenarios.
• You will define SLAs for test reliability and pipeline performance, monitor and improve signal vs. noise, introduce observability into testing (logs, traces, artifacts), and lead incident retrospectives related to quality gaps.
• You will implement and scale AI-assisted test case generation from product requirements and production data, leverage LLM-based tools to generate and refactor Playwright suites, build workflows for automated test creation and gap detection, and evaluate self-healing tests and intelligent selectors.
• You will mentor engineers and QA contributors, set standards for test quality and maintainability, and partner with engineering, product, and operations to embed a scalable testing culture across the organization.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in financial systems automation, gain hands-on experience with AI-driven testing in regulated environments, and grow as a technical leader shaping quality culture in a mission-critical fintech platform.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or software engineering roles with a proven track record in test automation leadership
• Deep expertise with Playwright in production environments, including framework design, test suite development, and CI/CD integration
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript for building scalable, maintainable test automation solutions
• Experience designing and evolving test frameworks from scratch for API-driven, distributed systems in fintech, capital markets, or lending platforms
• Solid understanding of CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and modern DevOps practices, including parallelization, test isolation, and pipeline optimization
