- • The AVP, Actuarial Science drives and supports company strategy by managing actuarial expertise to ensure actuarial soundness and improve profitability across CareSource’s lines of business.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading pricing, forecasting, month-end close activities, performance monitoring, and explaining actuarial inputs to financial reporting; overseeing actuarial functions; improving models, reports, and processes; representing Actuarial Services to regulators and external parties; and aligning actuarial work with Finance for executive leadership reporting.

- • In this role, the individual will develop strategic leadership in actuarial science, gain influence over enterprise-wide financial and operational decisions, mentor and build high-performing teams, and deepen expertise in healthcare regulatory environments while contributing directly to profitability and business intelligence.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a related field
- • Minimum of ten (10) years of actuarial industry experience, including at least five (5) years of management experience
- • Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare actuarial experience in Medicaid, Commercial, and/or Medicare Advantage, including rate negotiations, model/report design, and state/federal reporting
- • Membership as MAAA and ASA or FSA (Society of Actuaries and American Academy of Actuaries) required
- • Proven ability to communicate and present complex actuarial concepts to internal senior leaders and external regulators
