Azure Data Engineer

📋 Description

• • Join Lingarogroup as an Azure Data Engineer and become the backbone of our data-driven decision-making across Europe. You will architect, build, and optimize cloud-native data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver petabyte-scale data to analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders in real time.
• • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products—from raw ingestion through curated gold-layer datasets—leveraging Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Stream Analytics. You will design for both batch and streaming patterns, ensuring sub-second latency for critical operational dashboards and overnight batch windows for financial reporting.
• • Partner with cross-functional squads of product managers, ML engineers, and BI developers to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models. You will facilitate backlog grooming, story estimation, and sprint demos, acting as the technical anchor who keeps data quality, governance, and cost efficiency front-of-mind.
• • Implement enterprise-grade security and compliance controls, including customer-managed keys, private endpoints, row-level security, and dynamic data masking. You will maintain SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR alignment while enabling self-service analytics for hundreds of internal users.
• • Establish automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions to deploy infrastructure as code (Terraform/Bicep) and data transformation notebooks. You will champion blue-green deployments, automated regression testing, and rollback strategies that minimize downtime for mission-critical pipelines.
• • Optimize performance and cost by tuning Synapse SQL pools, applying partitioning strategies, and leveraging auto-scaling serverless SQL pools for ad-hoc workloads. You will monitor with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and custom Power BI dashboards to ensure SLAs and budget targets are met.
• • Drive data catalog adoption and lineage documentation through Azure Purview, enabling business users to discover trusted datasets and trace transformations back to source systems. You will mentor junior engineers on best practices for metadata management and data quality rule definition.
• • Contribute to Lingarogroup’s Center of Excellence by publishing internal tech blogs, running brown-bag sessions, and maintaining a reusable library of notebooks and ARM templates. You will stay ahead of the curve by evaluating new Azure services—such as Microsoft Fabric—and piloting them in sandbox environments before rolling them out to production.
• • Participate in an on-call rotation that emphasizes blameless post-mortems and continuous improvement. You will use PagerDuty and runbooks to ensure 99.9% pipeline availability, turning incidents into learning opportunities that strengthen our engineering culture.
• • Work 100% remotely from anywhere in Poland while collaborating with distributed teams across CET and EET time zones. You will enjoy asynchronous communication via Slack and Miro, complemented by quarterly in-person hackathons in Kraków or Warsaw to spark innovation and team bonding.
