• As a Backend Developer in our Barcelona team, you will play a pivotal role in constructing and scaling high-quality mobile experiences that are integral to our extensive consumer app portfolio. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining the sophisticated backend services that underpin our mobile and web applications, serving millions of users across the globe.
• Your responsibilities will encompass a wide spectrum, from architecting and developing scalable microservices and robust APIs to providing essential support for AI-powered features and the seamless deployment of machine learning models. You will be working on highly scaled, performance-critical products where unwavering reliability, exceptional speed, and elegant, clean architecture are paramount to our success.
• You will be tasked with designing, developing, and meticulously maintaining scalable backend services that provide the critical infrastructure for our mobile and web clients. This involves creating and continuously evolving microservices and RESTful APIs, ensuring they are built with a clean, maintainable, and future-proof architecture.
• A significant aspect of your role will involve deploying, diligently monitoring, and actively supporting AI models and data-driven services within our production environments. This requires a keen understanding of operational excellence and the ability to ensure the smooth functioning of complex systems.
• You will be a key contributor to optimizing system performance, enhancing reliability, and ensuring the scalability of our distributed systems. This involves identifying bottlenecks, implementing efficient solutions, and proactively addressing potential issues to maintain peak performance.
• Collaboration is at the heart of our development process. You will work closely with our talented mobile, frontend, AI, product, and DevOps teams to deliver new features from conception to launch, ensuring seamless integration and a cohesive user experience.
• You will be responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, and proactively improving the stability and observability of our systems. This includes developing robust monitoring solutions, analyzing logs, and implementing preventative measures to minimize downtime and ensure system resilience.
• Contributing to a culture of high code quality is essential. You will actively participate in code reviews, implement comprehensive testing strategies, and maintain thorough documentation to ensure clarity, maintainability, and knowledge sharing across the team.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in backend development using Node.js and/or Python.
• Experience designing and working with microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals.
• Ability to contribute effectively in high-scale environments handling large volumes of traffic and data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Google Cloud services (e.g., Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, App Engine) and Firebase.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Understanding of backend security principles and secure API design.
• Exposure to machine learning workflows, model deployment, or AI-related infrastructure.
