Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join the CRM Backend Engineering team at Docplanner and become the architect behind the engine that powers the daily workflow of thousands of healthcare professionals. You will work on a live, high-traffic platform that handles appointments, patient communications and payments for clinics across Europe and Latin America.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features—from white-boarding the data model to deploying containerised micro-services on our Kubernetes clusters. You will write clean, test-covered PHP 8.x and Go, refactor legacy modules into event-driven services and introduce patterns that let the codebase scale to tens of millions of monthly bookings.
- • Evolve the platform’s architecture by migrating synchronous endpoints to asynchronous message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS), introducing CQRS where it makes sense and designing blue-green deployments that achieve zero-downtime releases. Your pull requests will be reviewed by senior engineers who value pragmatic decisions and readable code.
- • Solve real-world product pain points reported by doctors, receptionists and patients. One week you might reduce the latency of the WhatsApp Business API integration so appointment reminders arrive in under two seconds; the next you might redesign the retry logic for SMS delivery in countries with unreliable telco networks.
- • Integrate third-party services that are mission-critical to our users: WhatsApp Business, Twilio SMS & Voice, Zoom Video SDK, Stripe and Adyen gateways, and cutting-edge LLM providers for AI-driven chatbots. You will wrap each provider behind an internal façade, implement circuit breakers and write contract tests to guarantee uptime.
- • Participate in continuous refactoring and code-reviews that keep technical debt under control. You will pair with teammates to break monoliths into bounded contexts, introduce feature toggles for safe roll-outs and instrument every new endpoint with OpenTelemetry metrics.
- • Collaborate daily with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers and UX Researchers in cross-functional squads that ship value every two weeks. You will demo your work to stakeholders, gather feedback from doctors in Madrid or São Paulo and iterate until the feature feels effortless.
- • Contribute to the team’s DevOps culture: write Terraform modules for new AWS resources, tune autoscaling policies and join the weekly on-call rotation that keeps our 99.9 % availability SLA. When an alert fires, you debug distributed traces, roll back if needed and run blameless post-mortems.
- • Grow your career through a personalised learning budget, internal guilds (PHP, Go, Data, SRE) and quarterly hack-days where you can experiment with new tech. Past teams have prototyped GraphQL gateways, event sourcing with Kafka and real-time analytics with ClickHouse.
- • Work 100 % remotely from anywhere in Italy or Europe while staying connected through Slack, Miro and Zoom. We meet twice a year in person for a week of workshops, team-building and pasta-making in Turin or Barcelona.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of backend development in PHP (Symfony/Laravel) or Go, including experience designing RESTful APIs and relational data models
- • Proven ability to work with high-traffic, production-grade systems—handling concurrency, caching, monitoring and graceful degradation
- • Solid understanding of SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and ability to optimise queries for large datasets
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka), Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
- • Nice-to-have: prior integrations with third-party services such as WhatsApp Business API, Twilio, Stripe or LLM providers
🏖️ Benefits
- • Full-remote flexibility with core hours 10:00-15:00 CET and no location constraints within Europe
- • Annual learning & conference budget of €2,000 plus paid days off to attend events
- • Private health insurance, mental-wellness coverage and annual medical check-ups for you and your family
- • Stock-option plan that lets you own a piece of Docplanner’s continued growth
- • 25 days of paid vacation plus local public holidays and an extra day off on your birthday
