• • As a Backend Engineer on the Reporting team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming massive volumes of GTM data into a highly performant, reliable, and accurate reporting infrastructure that our customers rely on daily. This is a mission-critical role where you will be the architect and custodian of the backend systems powering our most vital dashboards, insights, and customer-facing queries. Your primary responsibility will be to own the logic, optimize the performance, and ensure the scalability of the systems that translate raw, complex data into actionable strategic intelligence. • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass owning and continuously enhancing the backend systems that underpin all reporting functionalities across the HockeyStack platform. This includes the meticulous design, development, and maintenance of high-performance SQL queries, some of which may span over 500 lines, to extract and deliver critical GTM insights. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining robust backend services using Node.js and Express, focusing on transforming raw data into actionable outputs that drive business decisions. A significant part of your role will involve optimizing query performance across vast datasets, particularly those residing in analytical databases like ClickHouse, ensuring swift and efficient data retrieval. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Frontend Engineers to ensure the seamless delivery of accurate, real-time dashboards and insights that meet customer needs. Furthermore, you will implement sophisticated caching strategies, develop comprehensive edge-case handling mechanisms, and build in reliability measures to ensure our systems operate flawlessly at scale.
