- • As a Backend Engineer on the Core Sending team at Resend, you will help build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers the sending of transactional and marketing emails for over 1 million developers worldwide.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include defining scalable architecture for millions of daily API requests, building and scaling infrastructure to handle tens of millions of emails per day, improving high availability across distributed systems, scaling databases like PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, enhancing observability with tools like Datadog, refining disaster recovery plans, implementing infrastructure-as-code using CDK and Terraform, working with TypeScript and Go, designing and operating async pipelines (queues, streams, idempotency, retries, DLQs), and participating in on-call rotations for critical services.
- • You will join a fully remote, high-impact team of 40 engineers spanning 11 countries, backed by a16z and Y Combinator, focused on delivering a modern email platform with strong emphasis on quality, craft, and developer experience.
- • In this role, you will gain deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure on AWS, event-driven architectures, and observability practices, while having the autonomy to ship impactful features and own end-to-end solutions in a low-ego, ownership-driven culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of back-end engineering with a focus on cloud infrastructure
- • Fluency in writing and speaking English
- • Ability to consistently work within Americas time zones (UTC-5 to UTC+0)
- • Experience supporting large workloads on AWS
- • Experience with event-driven systems at scale (e.g., Kafka, SQS/SNS)
- • Proficiency in TypeScript and Go (or strong willingness to learn)
