📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Python and Golang to support Wahed’s ethical fintech platform.
• Develop and enhance backend systems that power Shariah-compliant financial products including interest-free equity ETFs, riba-free savings alternatives, and no-leverage real estate investments.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust, secure, and high-performance backend solutions.
• Optimize existing services for reliability, scalability, and performance while ensuring compliance with financial data standards and ethical finance principles.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning sessions to uphold code quality and system integrity.
• Experiment with and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve system efficiency and developer productivity.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of backend services.
• Work closely with frontend engineers and data teams to ensure seamless integration of APIs and data flows across the platform.
• Debug and resolve production issues with urgency and precision, minimizing downtime and ensuring service availability for global users.
• Document system architecture, API specifications, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Contribute to the design of data models and storage solutions that align with Shariah compliance requirements and financial regulatory expectations.
• Take ownership of end-to-end feature development from concept to deployment, including testing, monitoring, and post-launch support.
• Maintain a strong focus on security, data privacy, and ethical data handling in all backend development practices.
• Engage in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with team goals and delivery timelines.
• Proactively identify technical debt and propose actionable improvements to enhance system maintainability and scalability.
• Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at expanding Wahed’s global footprint through localized, compliant financial infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and Golang for building production-grade backend services
• Experience designing and deploying microservices in a cloud-based environment
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns
• Familiarity with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling best practices
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile team
