• • As a Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in co-owning and scaling our Advertiser Platform. This critical internal system underpins the management of offers, games, and budgets across our extensive ad network products. • • Your primary responsibility will be to own and extend our FastAPI backend, encompassing the development and refinement of routers, services, and the data layer. You will be instrumental in building complete, end-to-end features, seamlessly connecting our data sources like MongoDB and PostgreSQL through robust APIs to our Next.js frontend.
• • A key aspect of this role involves maintaining stringent backend-frontend contracts, leveraging Pydantic to ensure type safety and facilitate auto-generated TypeScript types, thereby enhancing developer efficiency and reducing integration friction.
• • You will also contribute significantly to the optimization of our database layer and access patterns. This includes crafting efficient queries, implementing effective caching strategies using Memcached or Redis, and working with tools like DBT or Dataform to manage and transform data.
• • Integration with third-party platforms such as HubSpot and Slack, as well as various internal services via APIs, will be a core part of your duties, ensuring our platform remains connected and functional within the broader ecosystem.
• • Furthermore, you will be tasked with improving our CI/CD pipelines, specifically utilizing GitHub Actions for automated workflows. You will manage Docker-based deployments on Hetzner using PM2, enhance our staging environment, and contribute to the expansion of our testing suite, taking ownership of the overall observability of our systems.
• • The role offers a unique opportunity to work with a modern tech stack, including Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, MongoDB, BigQuery, Memcached, Docker, GitHub Actions, PM2, Hetzner, Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Google Cloud Platform services like BigQuery and Cloud Storage. While the primary focus is backend development, you will have opportunities to touch frontend technologies.
