• As a Backend Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the Monzo US application. You'll be part of a dynamic, agile engineering team operating like an early-stage startup, but with the robust backing of a larger, established financial technology company.
• You will collaborate within cross-functional squads, working alongside product managers, designers, mobile and web engineers, data analysts, and more, to deliver exceptional financial products.
• Your primary focus will be on developing the backend systems that power our innovative US banking features, which include cashback rewards tailored to real habits, high-yield savings accounts with transparent terms, and smart budgeting tools designed to simplify users' financial lives.

• Our infrastructure is primarily hosted on AWS for production and GCP for data infrastructure, with experience in these cloud platforms being highly beneficial.
• You will also engage with technologies like Envoy Proxy for RPC and React for internal tools and public web applications.
• While we are technically agnostic and provide comprehensive onboarding, familiarity with strongly-typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala is advantageous.
• The role involves working within 'collectives,' which are self-governing business units of approximately 100 people, fostering a sense of autonomy and focused impact.

• $161,500 - $218,500 base salary plus stock options.
