- • As a Backend Engineer at Deel, you will play a critical role in building and enhancing the core infrastructure of a global HR and payroll platform that supports millions of workers across 150+ countries, directly contributing to the company’s mission of unlocking global opportunity.
- • You will collaborate daily with frontend engineers, product teams, designers, and QA to develop robust features, APIs, and scalable systems, participate in full lifecycle product planning, and ensure high-quality, customer-centric outcomes through proactive problem-solving and ownership.
- • You will join a highly distributed, innovative team of over 7,000 people spanning 100+ countries and 74 languages, working within a fast-growing SaaS leader recognized by CNBC, Forbes, and Deloitte, where your contributions impact real-world payroll, compliance, and HR operations at scale.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, API design, and scalable systems while gaining exposure to fintech, serverless architectures, and global compliance challenges—positioning you as a leader in the future of work technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices, with experience in at least one other server-side language
- • Expertise in PostgreSQL, including query optimization, data migrations, and data modeling
- • Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- • Proven ability to design and optimize systems for high-volume performance, concurrency, and scalability
- • Skilled in building secure, scalable APIs with input validation, JWT handling, and queue-based architectures
- • Demonstrated experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns
