- • As a Backend Engineer on Quilter AI’s File I/O Team, you will design and maintain critical integrations between Quilter’s AI-driven PCB automation platform and leading PCB CAD vendors such as Altium, Cadence Allegro, Siemens Xpedition, and Zuken, enabling seamless workflow transitions for electrical engineers.
- • Day to day, you will lead the design and development of CAD vendor integrations, define and extend Quilter’s internal PCB representation for cross-tool compatibility, build robust APIs and backend services to abstract CAD complexity, collaborate with ML, EDA, and electrical engineering experts, provide technical leadership on architecture and testing, and mentor junior engineers while shaping team culture.
- • Quilter AI Inc. is a well-funded Series B startup ($25M) focused on solving the decades-old challenge of automating printed circuit board design using ML/AI and high-performance computing, uniting experts in electrical engineering, electromagnetic simulation, and HPC to help engineers save time and build better hardware.
- • In this role, you will gain deep expertise in PCB CAD integration, influence the technical direction of a high-impact team, develop leadership and mentorship skills, and contribute to a mission-driven product that reduces engineering friction in hardware development.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer with significant time in backend roles
- • Expert-level proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks
- • Proven experience leading complex integration projects or working with large/ambiguous data models
- • Strong system design skills, including API design and distributed system reliability
- • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a track record of cross-functional influence
- • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-ownership startup environment
