• • As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Clumio team at Commvault Systems, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cloud-native data protection. • • You will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating robust backend services that are fundamental to our platform's capabilities. This includes developing and maintaining critical components such as control planes, sophisticated user-access management systems, and efficient backup workflows, all while ensuring the highest standards of reliability and performance.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves taking full ownership of features and components. You will guide these elements from their initial implementation through to their successful deployment and ongoing operation in production environments. This ownership extends to continuously refining and enhancing these systems based on real-world usage data, critical operational signals, and invaluable customer feedback, driving iterative improvements and innovation.
• • You will actively participate in the service design and API development processes. This requires making well-reasoned technical trade-offs that meticulously balance correctness, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and long-term maintainability, especially when faced with evolving and dynamic requirements.
• • The majority of your time will be dedicated to hands-on engineering: writing and meticulously reviewing production-quality code, adeptly diagnosing and resolving complex backend issues, and actively participating in on-call rotations and other operational responsibilities to ensure the continuous availability and stability of our services.
• • Collaboration is key to success. You will work in close partnership with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Customer-Facing teams, and other engineering groups. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for clarifying requirements, ensuring that features are production-ready, and supporting the smooth and efficient delivery of new capabilities to our customers.
• • You will serve as a technical leader and mentor, contributing to the reinforcement of best practices in code quality, design principles, and overall system architecture. Through your expertise and guidance, you will help strengthen the reliability, scalability, and overall robustness of the backend platform, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
