• Join Kraken's mission-driven team as a Backend Software Engineer focused on Custody, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the digital asset industry. • This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with a world-class team of Rust Engineers, cryptographers, hardware security experts, and on-chain specialists. You'll contribute to the development and enhancement of highly secure custody environments, focusing on the efficiency and robustness of cryptographic operations, particularly with major cryptographic curves.
• Your primary responsibilities will involve integrating our sophisticated existing systems with a diverse range of exciting new blockchains. This requires a deep understanding of blockchain protocols and the ability to build seamless, secure connections.
• You will design, implement, and maintain low-latency, high-availability applications and robust data protection systems. The focus is on ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive digital assets under Kraken's care.
• A significant part of your role will include working with and integrating specialized hardware security modules (HSMs). This involves understanding the intricacies of hardware-based security and ensuring their seamless operation within our software infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience as a backend developer.
• Proficiency in Rust, or C++, or Go.
• Experience with Blockchain daemons such as Bitcoind, Litecoind, or other crypto software.
• Strong foundation in cryptographic concepts.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and GNU Linux.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
