- • As the Benefits Manager within Human Resources at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and financial security of our dedicated staff. This fully remote position, based in the USA, offers a unique opportunity to lead in the administration and coordination of comprehensive welfare and retirement benefit plans, directly contributing to the advancement of InterVarsity's mission.
- • Your primary responsibility will be the meticulous coordination, negotiation, management, and clear communication of InterVarsity’s diverse benefit plans. This includes working closely with vendors, internal departments, and senior management to ensure our plans are competitive, cost-effective, and meet the evolving needs of our staff.
- • You will be instrumental in the annual budgeting process for benefit plans, collaborating with the Accounting department to develop and revise benefit charges for senior management review and adoption. This requires a keen analytical eye to understand cost drivers and propose adjustments that align with organizational financial goals.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve the ongoing analysis of existing benefit plans, evaluating their costs, effectiveness, and employee utilization. Based on this analysis, you will prepare insightful benefit plan design proposals, recommending enhancements or modifications to better serve our staff and support the organization's objectives.
- • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of enrollment data is paramount. You will oversee the precise enrollment processes for health, prescription drug, dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment (LADD), voluntary life, short-term disability (STD), and long-term disability (LTD) insurance. This includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date data within vendor databases for health, prescription, and dental plans.
- • You will champion employee participation and provide oversight for the 403(b) retirement plan, ensuring staff are informed about their retirement savings options and encouraging engagement. Similarly, you will oversee the annual Flexible Spending Account (Flex Plan) enrollment process and maintain ongoing coordination with the relevant vendor.
- • Timely and accurate payment of premiums for all welfare benefit plans is a critical operational duty. You will ensure that all financial obligations related to our benefit offerings are met promptly, maintaining strong relationships with our benefit providers.
- • To empower staff, you will encourage their utilization of designated Patient Care services to address questions and resolve issues related to their plans and coverage. You will also serve as a second-tier advocate, stepping in to assist with complex claims processing and issue resolution when necessary.
- • Developing and disseminating clear, concise, and engaging benefits communication materials for all staff will be a key responsibility. This includes creating informational resources, updates, and presentations that help employees understand and maximize their benefits.
- • You will manage the entire COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) process, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and providing seamless transitions for eligible individuals.
- • A crucial element of your role involves overseeing the operational aspects of welfare and retirement benefit plans, ensuring strict adherence to legal compliance requirements. This includes managing the distribution of essential participant notices, such as Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), plan change notices, and Summary Annual Reports (SARs).
- • You will coordinate the claims process for STD, LTD, and LADD benefits, working collaboratively with the vendor, Compensation Administrator, and Accounting department to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
- • Designing, implementing, and overseeing robust HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy procedures is essential to protect sensitive employee health information.
- • You will be responsible for providing comprehensive benefits orientation to new InterVarsity staff and employees, including conducting annual meetings at key organizational events like IVP (InterVarsity Press) and ONS (On-Site) gatherings.
- • Beyond administrative duties, you will establish genuine partnerships of care and service with and for InterVarsity staff and supporters. This involves maintaining open lines of communication, actively listening to and responding to staff needs and concerns, and proactively educating staff about their benefits and relevant policies.
- • You will also engage in regular communication with donors, sharing ministry updates, prayer requests, and relevant organizational news, fostering a connected community.
- • This role offers a competitive salary range of $62,000 - $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
